Lately, I like watching television series, Downton Abbey. Thanks to my fiancé whom has recommended this series after I had mentioned that I was interested in etiquettes and manners. It indeed catches my attention.
On that series, the ladies of the Crawley family wear hat. Of course they are not the only one who wear it as the setting is in the early 1900's. In the past, hats were an indicator of social status. Excerpted from Fashion and Its Social Agendas: Class, Gender, and Identity in Clothing, in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, hats were worn by members of all social classes, including the lowest strata. Obviously, we can see it on this British series.
My girl friend, Dewi, is visiting me in Banyuwangi from Yogyakarta. When I was accompanying her buying a face powder, I saw this floppy hat with its laidback colour. Because of Downton Abbey, I bought this hat immediately since I look it. Oh, dear! I just can't help it. I am such a woman!
So, here it was my new outfit which I wore at the beach today.
